Fuzhou Conference Pushes Green, Smart Maritime Technology
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 20 (Bernama) -- The World Maritime Equipment Conference 2026, hosted by the People’s Government of Fujian Province, was held in Fuzhou from Oct 16 to 19 under the theme "Green, Smart and Collaborative: Navigating a Shared Blue Ocean".
Held alongside the conference, the fourth Fujian International Maritime Equipment Expo attracted more than 800 Chinese and foreign companies, showcasing over 7,000 marine equipment items and technological innovations.
The organising committee in a statement said the conference aimed to promote green and intelligent technologies in the maritime industry and serve as a platform for international cooperation in the marine economy.
Its flagship events included the Maritime Equipment Conference Forum, the Fujian Marine Economy Industry Cooperation and Innovative Development Conference, and the IMO-China Sustainable Maritime Innovation Workshop 2026.
Guangdong served as the Guest Province of Honour, Taizhou in Jiangsu Province and Perpignan in France were the Guest Cities of Honour, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Harbin Engineering University were the Guest Universities of Honour.
The conference has been held three times in Fuzhou, drawing nearly 3,000 guests from more than 80 countries and regions, including over 70 executives from Fortune Global 500 companies and representatives of 40-plus international organisations.
Meanwhile, the expo has exhibited a cumulative total of more than 20,000 marine technology products, with transactions totalling nearly 150 billion Chinese yuan. (100 Chinese yuan = RM61.13)
