Abaxx Exchange Bags Energy Risk Asia Newcomer Award
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 21 (Bernama) -- Abaxx Technologies Inc (Abaxx), a financial software and market infrastructure company, announced that Risk.net has named Abaxx Exchange “Newcomer of the Year” at the 2026 Energy Risk Asia Awards.
Abaxx is the majority shareholder of Abaxx Singapore Pte Ltd (Abaxx Exchange), which owns the Abaxx Commodity Exchange and Clearinghouse.
Abaxx Exchange Chief Business Development Officer, Russell Robertson said energy systems and trade flows are changing and market participants need new tools to better manage risk.
“Abaxx is introducing new commodity futures benchmarks to meet that need, and we are grateful to our growing trading and clearing community for their partnership as we support Singapore’s role as a vital trading centre connecting the global economy,” he added.
The awards recognise innovation in commodity trading and risk management in the Asia-Pacific region, with the newcomer category honouring firms that have shown growth and market relevance within their first three years of operation, according to Abaxx in a statement.
The win follows the exchange’s Newcomer of the Year award at the Energy Risk Awards in May. Its Gold Singapore (GKS) contract was also named Best Innovation by an Exchange or Clearing House at the 2026 FOW Asia Pacific Awards last month.
Since trading started in June 2024, Abaxx Exchange has introduced 18 commodity futures contracts, including what it says are the only physically deliverable liquefied natural gas (LNG) futures traded globally and the only United States dollar-denominated, physically deliverable nickel sulphate and lithium carbonate futures outside China.
