Striding AI Unveils Retail Robots, Plans 2027 Commercial Launch

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 27 (Bernama) -- Striding AI has unveiled its physical artificial intelligence (AI) solution for retail, comprising two robots and a robot management platform, at the 22nd Asia-Pacific Retailers Convention & Exhibition on Oct 8.

The solution is designed to automate tasks such as carrying goods, restocking shelves, checking inventory and patrolling stores, freeing employees to focus on customer service, the company said in a statement.

The robots can also take on repetitive overnight work, reducing the need for late-night shifts and supporting round-the-clock convenience store operations.

Under reported deployment conditions, the system completes up to 99 per cent of tasks autonomously, with human intervention when needed, it said.

“By bringing Physical AI into real retail environments, we can continuously learn from deployment and turn real-world experience into more capable robotic systems,” said Striding AI Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Song Yao during his keynote.

The line-up includes the H1 humanoid robot, which greets and guides customers in more than 20 languages, and the C1 mobile manipulator, which transports and restocks goods in narrow aisles. Both are coordinated through the M1 robot management platform.

The company plans to add heavy-duty models and the A1 precision-manipulation robot for checkout and bagging to support a range of applications, from general-purpose mobile manipulation and dexterous tasks to heavy-duty operations.

Striding AI plans to launch commercial services in 2027 through direct purchase or robotics-as-a-service subscription covering hardware, software, operations and upgrades.

It also plans to work with global retail chains to test the system in stores, extending its use to hot-food preparation, inventory management, delivery sorting and packaging.
