JAKARTA, Oct 30 (Bernama) -- Shell Indonesia has completed the transfer of its petrol station business to Indonesian company SEFAS Group, covering approximately 200 outlets nationwide, while retaining the Shell brand under a licensing agreement.
Shell management said the business will now operate through PT Isla Energy Indonesia, owned by SEFAS Group, with more than 160 of the approximately 200 petrol stations being company-owned outlets.
The company said the transfer also covered related fuel supply and distribution operations, as well as a fuel terminal in Gresik, East Java.
“Under the brand licensing agreement, the Shell brand will continue to be used across PT Isla Energy Indonesia’s petrol station network, and customers will continue to have access to Shell fuel products,” the company said, according to state news agency Antara on Friday.
Shell said the ownership transfer did not include its lubricants business in Indonesia.
In August, SEFAS Group announced an agreement to acquire 100 per cent of Shell’s petrol station business in Indonesia, with completion subject to regulatory approvals and other customary conditions.
The agreement followed Shell’s May 2025 announcement of plans to transfer the business to a joint venture involving Citadel Pacific and SEFAS Group, as part of changes to the ownership of its Indonesian retail operations.
