KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 30 (Bernama) -- CAN Trader & Services Pte Ltd (CAN Trader), a Singapore-based marine electronics and systems integration company, has partnered with Guidance Marine, a provider of position reference technology for dynamic positioning (DP) systems used in the maritime and offshore industries.

DP systems help vessels hold their position at sea, using location data supplied by position reference sensors.

The partnership combines Guidance Marine’s technology with CAN Trader’s regional presence and technical expertise to serve offshore vessel owners and operators, shipyards and marine engineering companies in Southeast Asia, according to CAN Trader in a statement.

The partnership will focus on supplying position reference systems to shipyards, vessel owners and marine engineering contractors for new vessels, and on identifying opportunities to modernise existing DP installations.

It will also work with vessel operators on equipment lifecycle, system reliability and long-term fleet standardisation, with CAN Trader serving as the regional point of contact for Guidance Marine customers.

The two companies plan to engage customers and industry partners across Southeast Asia to identify project opportunities and tailor solutions to individual vessels.
