IJM's 1Q FY2027 Net Profit Rises To RM137.39 Mln, Driven By Construction, Manufacturing And Quarrying
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 26 (Bernama) -- IJM Corporation Bhd’s (IJM Corp) net profit for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026 (1Q FY2027) rose to RM137.39 million from RM95.60 million registered in the same period last year, driven by the construstion and manufacturing and quarrying divisions.
Revenue widened to RM2.29 billion from RM1.73 billion in the previous corresponding quarters.
In a Bursa Malaysia filing today, IJM Corp said revenue for the construction segment increased by 36.2 per cent in 1Q FY2027 from 1Q FY2026, driven by higher construction work activities in tandem with the higher order book, while a higher share of profit from joint ventures and foreign exchange gains also contributed to improved earnings.
Meanwhile, revenue from the property development and manufacturing and quarrying divisions increased by 38.5 per cent and 42.3 per cent, respectively, in 1Q FY2027 from 1Q FY2026, mainly due to the completion of the sale of a parcel of land in the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park (MCKIP) and higher deliveries of piles and ready-mixed concrete, respectively.
IJM Corp has declared a single-tier special dividend of 10 per share for the financial year ending March 31, 2027, to be paid on Oct 15, 2026.
On prospects, the company said the construction division is expected to perform strongly in FY2027, underpinned by its strong order book of RM14.5 billion comprising hyperscale data centres, advanced manufacturing and warehousing facilities and road infrastructure projects.
It said that the property division’s outlook remains cautious amid a softening market, driven by weaker consumer sentiment and heightened global uncertainty.
“To navigate these headwinds, the division will continue to adopt a responsive market strategy and enhance product differentiation to align with evolving buyer expectations and affordability thresholds, with the objective of achieving improved performance.
“The division’s performance is expected to improve this year on the back of its unbilled property and land sales of approximately RM2.2 billion whilst incubating its portfolio of investment properties,” it added.
IJM Corp added that the industry division is expected to maintain strong performance, while the toll division will continue providing steady revenue and long-term earnings visibility.
“The port division is expected to recover gradually on the back of the progressive resumption of business activities of a major customer,” it said.
