RISO Unveils Energy-Saving High-Speed Inkjet Printers
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 20 (Bernama) -- RISO Kagaku Corporation (RISO) has launched the ComColor GN Series, its latest lineup of ultra-high-speed full-colour inkjet printers designed for transactional documents such as invoices, manuals and envelope mailings.
RISO in a statement said the series combines its heatless, oil-based pigment ink technology with high-volume production capabilities to boost productivity without compromising print quality or sustainability.
The flagship ComColor GN9830 prints at up to 180 single-sided pages per minute. Fixed in-line printheads ensure continuous paper feeding, while faster start-up, cleaning and sleep recovery, along with optional high-speed scanning, speed up printing workflows.
Unlike laser printers, which use heat and pressure, the series uses a heatless process that prevents paper from curling. This keeps sheets flat for stable double-sided printing and allows automatic sorting, stapling and booklet binding.
Newly formulated ink and upgraded printheads expand the colour range, while improved paper handling and precise ink placement produce sharper images, barcodes and text across various paper types, including envelopes and postcards.
The heatless process also lowers weekly energy consumption, and the main unit contains 15 per cent recycled plastic resin, three times more than previous models, reducing its lifecycle carbon emissions, the company said. Users can track estimated carbon dioxide reductions on the printer’s touch screen.
Founded in Tokyo in 1946 as a mimeograph business, RISO marked its 80th anniversary in September. Its products, including digital duplicators and VALEZUS production printers, are used in more than 190 countries and regions.
