Budget 2027 Boosts Investor Confidence, Widens Economic Benefits - MIDA
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 12 (Bernama) -- Budget 2027 will provide long-term confidence for investors, strengthen the industrial ecosystem, and ensure that small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and the local workforce widely share the economic benefits, according to the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA).
MIDA chief executive officer Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid said Malaysia’s priority was not merely to attract quality, sustainable investments, but also to ensure they generated added value and delivered lasting impact on the national economy.
He said MIDA was intensifying strategic efforts to directly link high-value investments with local companies through the National Investment Aspirations agenda.
“This is important to strengthen industrial capabilities and the ecosystem, move Malaysian companies into higher-value segments of the supply chain, and create high-paying jobs to drive inclusive economic growth.
“With a combination of tax incentives, infrastructure and a strong talent pool, MIDA is committed to continuing to facilitate investors’ growth in Malaysia,” said Sikh Shamsul in a statement today.
He emphasised that MIDA will continue to work with stakeholders through a whole-of-government approach and the #InvestLokal agenda, including the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), other government ministries and agencies, and industry players, to facilitate and expedite the implementation of approved projects.
This would ensure that high-quality investments strengthen local industries, create high-value jobs and generate broad economic benefits for the people, said Sikh Shamsul.
