Bursa Malaysia Ends Slightly Higher On Late Buying In Selected Heavyweights

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 3 (Bernama) -- Bursa Malaysia ended marginally higher on Monday supported by late buying in selected large-cap stocks amid improving investor sentiment, despite lingering geopolitical uncertainties, an analyst said.

Bursa Malaysia Stays Lower At Mid-Afternoon

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 3 (Bernama) -- Bursa Malaysia remained lower at mid-afternoon, weighed down by mild selling in selected heavyweights, said an analyst.

At 3.01 pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) eased 2.73 points to 1,722.17 from last Friday’s close of 1,724.90.

The benchmark index opened 0.36 of a point higher at 1,725.26.

Bursa Malaysia Lower At Midday Due To Profit-Taking

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 3 (Bernama) -- Bursa Malaysia was lower at midday due to profit-taking in selected heavyweights led by Petronas Chemicals, CelcomDigi and Tenaga Nasional, which was in line with the weakness in most regional peers despite news of a resumption of West Asia peace talks.

Bursa Malaysia Eases Further At Mid-morning

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 3 (Bernama) -- Bursa Malaysia eased further in line with regional markets at mid-morning amid the latest developments in the West Asia conflict.

At 11.01 am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was 0.94 point lower to 1,723.96 from last Friday’s close of 1,724.90.

The benchmark index opened 0.36 point higher at 1,725.26.
